Aug 09, 2014· I agree with Murdock. You can try your 450, even with the chain you have, on one of the alaskan mills. Especially in softwoods. The Mark III's can be adjusted to fit any shorter saw, for example you could get a 36" if you wanted, the extra length just hangs out over the side.

Dec 27, 2005· I will say this for Logosol, if I was going to have a chainsaw mill that didn't need to be as portable as the Granberg chainsaw mill and I had small logs 20" or smaller, and I had more money I would buy the Logosol M7 Chainsaw mill. If your logs are in a remote or hard to get to area and your on a limited budget the Alaskan mill is the ticket.

I think this rip chain would work fine with an Alaskan Mark III or similar style mill. It's just more challenging with the open end on the Alaskan Small Log Mill. Final Update: I milled a small cherry log with the 20″ rip chain and only used it with the Alaskan Small Log Mill. The log was 6′ .
