Abstract. A comprehensive effort is made to partially replace the natural river sand with stone quarry dust, cement with fly ash and rice husk ash as an alternative in combination with mineral admixture for concrete ingredients which shall lead to sustainable development and lowest possible environmental impact and also reduction in the cost of construction.

Rama Raju et al. [13] had made an attempt to use quarry dust and fly ash as partial replacement for sand and cement respectively in SCC and to investigate some properties of quarry dust and fly ash and the suitability of those properties to enable them to be used as partial replacement materials for sand and cement in concrete.

Performance of Concrete Containing Fly Ash and Quarry Sand in terms of Workability and .. DOI: 10.9790/1684-1402010108 2 | Page strength characteristics of quarry dust concrete containing 0% to 30% fly ash. Based on results obtained, they

different percentages and to study the effect of replacement of cement by fly ash in the preparation of self compacting concrete. Mix design of SCC with various dosages of quarry dust and fly ash was done for diffent cementitious content and the effect on fresh and hardened properties was studied. Hence, partial replacement of cement becomes a necessity as well as natural sand in concrete by waste material or by-product without compromising the quality of the end product. Partial replacement with Ground Granulated Blast furnace Slag (GGBS), Fly Ash (PFA), Silica Fumes (SILICA) incorporates with of Quarry Dust (QD) as sand replacement.

Abstract. This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out to evaluate the compressive strength and transverse strength of 1 : 3 mortar mixes in which natural sand was replaced with 20%, 50%, and quarry dust by weight which were further modified by partially replacing cement with four percentages (15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%) of low calcium fly ash.

The strength properties of concrete with fly ash, rice husk ash and quarry sand replacement are compared with the compressive strength of concrete are obtained at age of 7, 14, 28, 56 and 90 days.. The strength properties of concrete with fly ash, rice husk ash and quarry sand replacement are compared with that of controlled concrete. The

investigated the partial replacement of sand with quarry dust. Initially cement concrete cube was studied with various proportions of cement concrete + quarry dust (M 20, AND M25). The experimental results showed that the addition of quarry dust as fine aggregate ratio of 30%, 40% and 50% was found to enhance the compressive properties.

Jun 10, 2019· Therefore the objective of the current research is to convert fly ash into artificial sand and check its viability as the complete replacement to the river sand in concrete. To achieve this, geopolymerisation of fly ash was done to manufacture artificial sand termed as geopolymer fly ash sand .

sand with quarry sand reduces the slump value by 39percent. However, the addition of fly ash in concrete improves the workability. Hence, a judicious selection of the quantity of fly ash and plasticizer can improve the drawback of the reduced workability of concrete due to the presence of quarry sand in concrete.

abstract: fly ash contains the basic ingredients of cement like silica, magnesium and calcium. cement industries use fly ash to improve the volume. quarry dust also contains a similar property of river sand. quarry dust is used in concrete to minimize the demand of river sand. maximum

Chemical Properties : The chemical properties of fly ash are influenced to a great extent by those of the coal burned and the techniques used for handling and storage. There are basically four types, or ranks, of coal, each of which varies in terms of its heating value, its chemical composition, ash content, and geological origin.

the investigation of some properties of quarry dust and discuss the suitability of those properties to enable its usage as a replacement material for sand in concrete. Sand was replaced by quarry dust in 0%, 20% and 40% where the cement was replaced by silica fume and fly ash. Super plasticizer was used to get desired workability.

Two classes of fly ash are defined by ASTM C618: Class F fly ash and Class C fly ash. The chief difference between these classes is the amount of calcium, silica, alumina, and iron content in the ash. The chemical properties of the fly ash are largely influenced by the chemical content of the coal burned. Class F fly ash:

The concept of replacement of natural fine aggregate by quarry dust which is highlighted in the study could boost the consumption of quarry dust generated from quarries. By replacement of quarry dust, the requirement of land fill area can be reduced and can also solve the problem of natural sand scarcity. The availability of sand at low cost as a fine aggregate in concrete is not suitable and ...

Physical Properties of Fly Ash. The physical properties of fly ash are, 1. Fineness of Fly Ash. As per ASTM, the fineness of the fly ash is to be checked in both dry n wet sieving. The fly ash sample is sieved in 45 micron sieve and the percentage of retained on the 45 micron sieve is calculated.

natural association with magnesium oxide (MgO).Lime reacts with fly ash at ordinary temperature and forms a compound possessing cementitious properties. After reactions between lime and fly ash, calcium silicate hydrates are produced which are responsible for the high strength of the compound. Fly Ash Lime Gypsum Quarry dust Fly ash Bricks

To address the environmental constraints due to cement production and sand scarcity, strength properties of high-calcium fly ash (CFA)-based geopolymer concrete with quarry dust as fine aggregate is explored in this paper. River sand was replaced with quarry dust from 0 to by mass.
